#3 film photography - practice rolls

Film photography is another one of those passions that I’ve just completely put on hold over the last few years of work. I’m not really sure why exactly, but it’s something I’ve been wanting to get back into and now seemed like the perfect time to take the plunge.

With a lot of traveling coming up over the next few months I took a few practice rolls at home and around London to get back into it. I am definitely out of practice - many of my shots were out of focus and underdeveloped, and there are very few I genuinely like - but I’m really enjoying doing something that is much more intentional (for me at least) than digital photography.

I find when I’m shooting digital I’m prone to taking a LOT of photos without thinking about what I’m trying to capture and then hoping I can figure it out later during the editing stage, which often leaves me feeling simultaneously over- and underwhelmed. I’m hoping that by going back to basics I can challenge myself to be more decisive while shooting rather than just trying to capture anything and everything with no constraints.

Updates and hopefully improvement to follow!
